Cultivate with Your Own Seeds, Nurture Your Soil

By relying on traditional farming methods and saving our own seeds, we ensure food security and healthy crops without external inputs.

By Laxmi Bagh, Farmer · KARAMDIHI

Responds to — Reliance on external agricultural inputs and chemical fertilizers

Cultivate with Your Own Seeds, Nurture Your Soil
I cultivate Rabi crops like mustard and betel leaves, doing it manually and without fertilizer or irrigation. My own seeds are good, and I use organic manure instead of chemical fertilizers. This way, we keep our land healthy and our food pure. We also cultivate green gram, black gram, and chickpea. The important thing is to save the seeds from this year's harvest and use them again next year. This cycle ensures we always have what we need, and these unique crops come in just three months. This practice, passed down through generations, allows us to be self-reliant. We don't depend on outside suppliers for seeds or costly chemicals, making our farming sustainable and our harvest strong.

    The recipe

Grow crops using traditional methods, organic manure, and always save your own seeds for future harvests.
